Son of Isaiah Spearman Olive and Jane Golden Olive nee Love of Yeunngroon, Victoria.

Brother of Samuel Love Olive who was killed in action on 5 August 1918 while serving with the 21st Battalion and is buried in the Villers-Bretonneux Military Cemetery, Plot XX, Row A, Grave 8.

Husband of Fanny Olive nee Jacka of Wedderburn, Victoria. Isaiah and Fanny married during 1911c

Commenced return to Australia on 25 March 1919 aboard HT Port Denison disembarking on 10 May 1919
