Cpl De Warren, a clerk from Milton, Qld prior to enlistment and following his service at Gallipoli, served in the Middle East where, on 9 August 1916, aged 20, he was killed in action in the Suez Canal Zone and was buried in the Kantara War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt.
