Add my storyBiography
"THE LATE PRIVATE J. M. FERGUSON.
Mrs. J. M. Ferguson, of Frederick-street, Maylands, has been notified that her husband, Private J. M. Ferguson, who was previously reported missing, was killed in action in France on August 21. He was with the first Australians who participated in the war in France and saw continuous fighting until his death. He was for many years a member of the Scottish-Corps and was well known in lodge circles. For many years he was Grand Master of the Free Gardeners' Lodge, and was one of the founders of the Loyal Maylands Lodge. He left a wife and two children. Private Ferguson was of a genial disposition and was highly esteemed by all who knew him." - from the Adelaide Chronicle 25 Nov 1916 (nla.gov.au)
