Thomas was an original member of C Company 32nd Battalion AIF. He was Wounded in Action on 19 July 1917 and returned to Australia on 10 September 1917 (Lost right eye).
His brother 2827 Pte John Bailey Wang (/explore/people/323324) of the 10th Battalion AIF was also Wounded in Action and returned to Australia on 3 February 1917. (GSW both thighs)
