Son of George Urie of Pollockshaw Road, Glasgow, Scotland.
3 November 1916 - enlisted at Toowoomba, QLD, with the 11th Field Compe]any Engineers and with the rank of Driver.
1 March 1916 - Promoted to Sapper
15 October 1916 - Transferred to the 14th Firld Company Engineers.
24 April 1918 - wounded in action. Gassed. Invalided to England on 27 April 1918
5 March 1919 - commenced return to Australia on aboard HT Nevasa disembarking on 1 May 1919
19 February 1920 - discharged at the 1st Military District as medically unfit.
