Son of Benjamin WALLER and Elizabeth nee NEWBOLD
After a long illness Mr. Oscar H. Waller (late A.I F.) of Warooka, died at Northfield, Adelaide, on Friday, February 16. His remains were brought to Yorketown by Mr. J. Penhale, and the funeral took place at the Warooka Cemetery on Sunday afternoon, where the burial service was conducted by the Rev. J. C. Oliver. The Returned Soldiers and Masonic Brethern marched at the head of cortege. The late Oscar Waller 42, was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. B. Waller, and a nephew of Mr. and Mrs. R. Newbold. For a number of years he was farming with his brothers at Warooka, but latterly had been conducting a butcher's business. He enlisted on October 23, 1914 and served with the A.I.F. as a corporal in the 54th Battery. His war service included Egypt and Gallipoli. He was wounded at Walker's Ridge, invalided to Malta thence to England. After recovery he went back to Egypt and thence France. He returned to Australia on February 22, 1919. He leaves a widow and one daughter.
