Robert Leslie Wilson
Robert Leslie Wilson was born in Richmond, NSW in 1893. He lived in Riverstone before he left for war.
He had a wife named L.G. Wilson and who lived in Auburn NSW. He had a father named Lawson Wilson and three brothers Andrew Wilson(6182),
Francis Wilson(7607) and Norman Wilson(68430).
Robert Leslie Wilson worked as a labourer before he joined the war.
Robert Leslie Wilson enlisted at Victoria Barracks, Sydney on the 11th of April, 1916 at the age of 23. He embarked from Sydney on HMAT 'Port Sydney'
A15 on the 4th of September, 1916.
He served with 35th infantry battalion on the Western Front.
Private Wilson was killed in action near Ploegsteert Wood (near Messines) Belgium.
Private Wilson is shown on the Blacktown Soldiers Memorial as P. L. WILSON. He is also remembered on the Riverstone and District War Memorial, the Riverstone and District Honour Roll and Riverstone Public School Roll Of Honour.

"...1872 Private Robert Leslie Wilson, 35th Battalion of Auburn, NSW. A labourer prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Port Sydney (A15) on 4 September 1916.
