Biography

Private COLIN DONALD SYDNEY McLEAN, who was killed in action in France on August 13, was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. D. McLean, of Murrayville, Victoria. He was born at Kiata, and went to  Lameroo 12 years ago, where he attended the State school. Thence he went to Murrayville and selected land with his father and brothers. He was farming until he enlisted on August 10, 1916. He sailed  on September 21 of that year, with the 9th Reinforcements to the32nd Battalion, but was transferred to the 50th Battalion with his brother, James, who is nowlying wounded in France. He was 22 years  and 10 months old, and he had many friends.
