Biography

"THE LATE PRIVATE H. MUNRO.

Private Munro was well known in Kapunda and district for many years. He was at one time secretary to the Kapunda and Light Agricultural Society, but it was as an athlete that he was best known. He was an adept at cricket, lacrosse, tennis, and football, and in all these healthy pastimes he was a strong man to have in a team. In disposition he was happy, taking the days as they came and went, and for this reason alone he made many friends. About his last appearance before he enlisted was in an entertainment given by the Kapunda Daddies, where he was corner man in the minstrel troupe. He was 44 years of age, and unmarried." - from the Kapunda Herald 25 Aug 1916 (nla.gov.au)
