He was 25 and a son of James and Mary Harold. His brother, Private Christopher Harold, Service Number 2027, 26th Battalion, returned to Australia, 8 April 1919.

Embarked Alexandria and proceeded to join the British Expeditionary Force, 14 May 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 19 May 1916.

He is remembered on the Navan Great War Memorial, Town Hall, Watergate Street, Navan, County Meath, Ireland.
