Hector Sadler was married to Daisy in Geelong in 1915. He became father to a little girl, Gwyneth, born 2 weeks before he died on 30 July 1916. Hector's older brother, Henry Sadler 8th Battalion AIF, died at Gallipoli on the 1 May 1915.

SADLER.-A tribute of love to the memory of our esteemed workmate, Private Hector Sadler, who was killed in action in France on July 30th, 1916.

Sweet, is the memory left behind

Of one so noble, true, and kind;

His fight is fought, he stood the test.

We'll always remember him as one of the best.
