"2028 Private Jesse Maxwell Creasy, 56th Battalion, of Wagga Wagga, NSW. Formerly a farmer, Pte Creasy enlisted on 23 March 1916 and as a member of the 3rd Reinforcements, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Barambah (A37) on 23 June 1916. He was wounded in action on the Western Front and died of his wounds on 15 March 1917, aged 26." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)

Jesse Maxwell CREASY was born in 1891 in Bedford, Virginia, U.S.A.

His parents were James Whitfield CREASY and Ellen Franklin LEFTWICH who married on 12th February, 1879 in Bedford, Virginia

His parents & their 8 children including Jesse arrived in Australia on 20th April, 1896 on the RMS Alameda from San Francisco
