Biography

"THE LATE PRIVATE MILDE.

The late Private B. J. Milde (Ben) was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Milde, of Eudunda. He was in his 26th year, and spent the greatest part of his life on his father's farm. He took a great interest in coursing. Private Milde was 6 ft. 2 in. in height, and strong in proportion. He was of a lively disposition and was well liked. He made three attempts before being accepted, and he went into camp on April 2, 1916. He sailed for England on August 28, and was for a few months on Salisbury Plain. He left for France on December 8, where he was killed in action on March 3." - from the Adelaide Chronicle 30 Jun 1917 (nla.gov.au)
