Allan Alfred Hatton
ALLAN ALFRED HATTON (1897-1965) born at Yass, son of Allen Albert and Margaret Ann Hatton nee Lanham. Allan enlisted in the 1st AIF as Private 2415 at Goulburn after spending 4 years in the Senior Cadets. He embarked from Sydney on board the HMAT Aeneas A60 on September 30th, 1916. After arriving in England, his troop was sent to France on board the Princess Victoria on November 19th. While serving as Mess Orderly he received a bad scalding of his left foot and was transferred back to England for treatment. He was returned to France where he suffered other injuries to his knee. He returned to Sydney February 1st, 1918 Balmoral Castle after service with the 56th Infantry Battalion. Discharged on May 1st, 1918 – Medically unfit.
