6 Sep 1915: Honoured Distinguished Conduct Medal, ANZAC / Gallipoli, For conspicuous gallantry on the 25th April, 1915, near Gaba Tepe (Dardanelles). After the landing he passed frequently from the supports to the firing line under a very heavy fire to keep the communications open. 28 Aug 1916: Wounded AIF WW1, Private, 744, 15th Infantry Battalion, Mouquet Farm, SW to back. Evacuated to 44th CCS situated at Puchevillers, where he died of his wounds two days later on 30 August 1916.
