Son of Alex Stewart, Geurie, New South Wales
The death occurred at the Orange District Hospital on Friday morning of Mr. John Provins Stewart, agod 33, from Bright's disease, a malady from which he had suffered for some time, ever since his return from the war in 1918, and for which he had been treated previously at both Wellington and Orange. He was the eldest son of Mr and Mrs A. Stewart, of Geurie, where he was born, and where they have lived for over thirty years. The deceased leaves a widow and one child. He was a member of the Wellington branch of the R.S. and L. League.
He was but 33 years of age. Much sympathy has been expressed for the family. Jack having been very popular with all who knew him, and who could appreciate his loyal, generous and straightforward nature. Many wreaths, telegrams, cards of sympathy have been received by the family. Deceased was absent from Geurie for four years on active service during the recent world conflict, returning home after the close of hostilities, but owing to wounds and injuries received abroad, his health was broken, and he had been under medical treatment intermittently from his return until his death on Friday last.
