Prior to carting he was a grocer for about eight years.
Husband of Jessie Martha E.Uhrig nee Mabbott of Lilyfield, NSW. Goerge and Martha married during 1915c in Tamworth, NSW
Troopship HT Wyreema was recalled and returned to Melbourne on 21 December 1918 disembarking for onward travel to Sydney.
