Son of James O'Briend and Mary J. O'Brien of Wellington, NSW

Commenced return to Australia on 19 December 1918 aboard HT Leicestershire disenbarking on 23 January 1919 at Colombo and did not re-embark, declared to be AWOL, then transhipped to HT Argyllshire disembarking on 1 February 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Sydney.

Medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal
