Embarked from Brisbane with 25th Battalion aboard A48 HMAT ‘Seang Bee’ on 21st October 1915.
He was 22 and the son of Arthur and Emma Louisa Chapman, 8, Queen Street, Sutton Bridge, Lincolnshire, England.
He is remembered on the Sutton Bridge War Memorial.
Wounded in action taking the railway line east of Noreuil (France) during the AIF push to the Hindenburg Line 5-6th April 1917;died of wounds in 2nd General Hospital Havre, France 21st April 1917. Previously wounded [GSW ]right shoulder and thigh in September 1916-treated in 3rd Northern General Hospital, Sheffield, England.
