Horace GILDERSLEEVES was born in Perth, Western Australia in 1890
His parents were William GILDERSLEEVES & Fanny GARNHAM who married in England in 1874 (registered in Ipswich, UK) His father used the surname GILDER when he married
He enlisted on 13th February, 1916 and embarked from Melbourne on the HMAT Wandilla on 6th June 1916 with the 3rd Pioneers Battalion, D Company
Horace was Killed in Action in Messines, Belgium on 4th June 1917 and is buried in the Strand Military Cemetery
