“Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Douglas, of North and Prospect streets, Toowoomba, have been officially advised that their son Alexander Douglas, was killed in action on April 27, 1916. The late Corporal Andrew Douglas came to Queensland from Portobello, Scotland, with his parents, about 2 and a half years ago. He was 21 years of age, and prior to enlisting in the A.I.P. in Brisbane was employed as a checker in the Ipswich goods shed.”
