Biography

Reginald George STAPLES was born in Frindsbury, Kent in March quarter 1893 His parents were Albert Alfred STAPLES and Elizabeth Harriet APPS S/N2798 he enlisted in July 1915 as a Private with 27th Battalion, Unit embarked from Adelaide on HMAT Benalla on 27.10.1915 He was also listed in the 1st Traffic Control Detachment He returned to Australia on ship City of Boona in 1919 Reginald married Eva Lavinia SHIPP on 28.7.1919 in Methodist Church, Thebarton, Hindmarsh, South Australia Eva died 30.7.1962 and Reginald died 18.7.1946 both at Cowandilla, Adelaide They are buried in Hindmarsh Cemetery His brother Harold Alfred STAPLES S/N 2353 was killed in action in 1915
