Biography contributed by Paul Trevor

The information detailed on page 25-30 of 310 Private Thomas Vowles' Attestation Paper and Service Record confirms that his death on the 16 November 1921 at the Rosemount Repatriation Hospital, Windsor, Queensland was contributed and proven to be from his war-time injuries that he received.

Private Vowles wife, Jane Isabel Vowles, received the Memorial Scroll and Death Plaque in March 1923. Due to the untimely death of Private Thomas Vowles in the early post-war period of The First World War; to date in July 2017, his death has not yet been recognised by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, nor placed on the Roll of Honour of the Australian War Memorial.

I am currently in contact with both, and I hope shortly that Pte. Thomas Vowles will receive the honour and recognition that he deserves for the service he displayed and the period of 2½ that he lost as a Prisoner of War.

'Personal Notes.
