"ROLL OF HONOR. NORTHERN MEN WOUNDED OR FALLEN.
BARRABA, Monday. The sad news reached town on Friday that Private Geary had been killed in action. Pte. Geary was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Geary, of Gulf Creek, very highly esteemed residents of that locality." - from the Tamworth Daily Observer 06 Nov 1917 (nla.gov.au)
"IN MEMORIAM. GEARY.— In loving memory of our dear nephew, Lance-Corpl. E. A. Geary, died of wounds in France on 15th Oct., 1917.
No space of time, no lapse of years, Can dim our dear Ernie's past;
A loving memory holds it dear, Affections holds it fast. (Inserted by his loving aunt and uncle, J. and R. Willison, Ashfleld, Sydney)." - from the Armidale Chronicle 15 Oct 1919 (nla.gov.au)
