Biography

"... 3863 Private (Pte) Albert James Phillpotts, 10th Battalion. A tinsmith from Adelaide, South Australia, prior to enlistment, he embarked with the 12th Reinforcements from Adelaide on 2 December 1915 aboard RMS Malwa for Egypt. On 2 April 1916 he was transferred to the 50th Battalion which relocated to the Western Front, France, during June 1916. Pte Phillpotts was killed in action near Vadencourt, France, on 16 August 1916. He has no known grave and he is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
