Son of Robert and M Storey, Dingle Road, Beechworth, Victoria
Mr. Charles Storey, who had been in ill-health for the past twelve months, died on Wednesday. Mr. Storey was an inspector of customs, and with the formation of the division of import procurement when over as inspector in charge of the licensing branch. He was a prominitent member of the Moreland Bowling Club. He was 53 years of age. He leaves a widow and twelve children.
The death of Mr Charles Storey took place at his home, 34 Glencairn st. Coburg, at the age of 53 years. He was the fourth son of the late Mr and Mrs Robert Storey, of Dingle Road., Beechworth. He was Inspector of Customs in Melbourne for many years, and is survived by his wife (nee Miss Kathleen Roper), and family of 12 children : Charles, Geoff (RAAF.). Kathleen, Morris, Nancy, Shirley, Robert, Eileen, Heather, Helen, Louise and John. Mr Storey served with the 39th battalion, AIF., in the last war. His brothers, James, Matthew and George, and sister (Mrs C. H. Ahrens) predeceased him. One brother, Robert, is in the Postal Department in Sydney, and his sisters, Mrs Stephens and Madge, live in Melbourne.
