"Aldermen and others present at last night's meeting of the City Council stood to attention for one minute in respect to the memory of the late Mr. Con Iszlaub, whose death occurred recently, and who had been an employee of the council for over 20 years. In a fine tribute the Mayor (Ald. R. D. McDowell) said that the late Mr. Iszlaub had been a staunch and conscientious employee who had had to retire through ill-health. "All who had worked with him and who had known his sterling qualities would feel the loss of Con. Iszlaub," he said." - from the Maryborough Chronicle 22 Jun 1949 (nla.gov.au)
