Albert was killed in action on 11 Jun 1917, his brother, 2126 Pte. Frederick Arthur Mills (/explore/people/275810) of the same Battalion, had been killed in action in the same place on the previous day.

Their eldest brother 3346 Pte. William John Richard Mills (/explore/people/120495), of the 52nd Battalion, was also killed in action in France, 10 months later, on 24 Apr 1918.
