"...58051 Private Clyde Edgar Affleck, a postman from Killarney, Qld, who joined the AIF on 21 May 1918. Pte Affleck embarked on HMAT Bakara (A41) with the 6th General Reinforcements in Sydney on 4 September 1918 bound for England by way of the Cape of Good Hope. On 17 October 1918 he was admitted to the ships hospital with pneumonia and was disembarked on 25 October 1918 at Freetown, Sierra Leone, and admitted to the Military Hospital where he died on 27 October 1918 of influenza. Pte Affleck was buried in the Naval and Military Cemetery, King Tom, Sierra Leone. He was 20 years old." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
