Robert Joseph Ledwidge
Robert was a painter, Married Lillian Florence Josephs on 04/10/1920. Together they had 3 children. Joan Caroline 1922-24/4/1984, Ruth Lilian b1926 and Ralph Robert 17/06/31-26/03/1996. Robert was a very much loved Husband, Father and Grandfather. Although Pop passed away when I was only 1, my famiily still tell wonderful stories of his love for his family and his mischievous streak. Loved to paint the toilet seat and not tell anyone. All his children married and had children of there own.
Robert who was born 15/5/1886 in Hay to Bebiana Ledwidge. He was mostly raised in the Sydney area.
Robert was in the Camel Corps & Lighthorsemen.
From what my mother has said he did not talk about the war much as his wife found it very unsettling, but loved to watch the Anzac march each year and was rather impressed when his son Ralph's daughter (me) was born on Anzac day 1968!.
I am sure many other ancestors would love to add information so stay tuned2
