Son of James Uren and Sarah Uren nee Bowen of Eyre Street, Ballarat, Victoria

21 December 1917 - enlisted at Seymour, Victoria, with the 2nd Victorian General Reinforcements with  the rank of Private.

4 February 1919 - transferred to the 24th Battalion.

1 August 1919 - commenced return to Australia aboard HT Argyllshire disembarking on the 22nd September 1919

Medal: British War Medal

15 October 1919 - discharged at the 3rd Military District
