Sidney Wigmore SHAW was born in Worthing, Sussex, England in 1881
His parents were James Veitch SHAW & Emma Ann LINDUS
Sidney had previous service with the Sussex Yeomanry
He came to Australia with his sister in 1909 and enlisted in Brisbane on 16th December, 1914 & embarked with the 15th Infantry Battalion, 3rd reinforcements on 13th February, 1915 from Brisbane on the HMAT Seang Choon
He was Killed in Action at Quinns Post, Gallipoli on 11th May, 1915 and is buried in the Quinns Post Cemetery, Row D, Grave 7
His name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial
