ADAMSON, Hendrick was born on 1882 in Pärnu, Estonia. He moved to Adelaide, on the 5/08/1913. Mr Adamson worked as a Labourer until 4/06/1915 when he enlisted into the 10th Battalion. He put his mother Mrs Maria Adamson as next of kin. Mr Adamson embaredk from Adelaide, South Australia on the HMAT A15 Star of England on the 21 of September 1915. The 10th battalion was sent to Anzac Cove in the Gallipoli Peninsula.
In 1916 Mr Adamson would go on to fight at the Western Front. He was wounded on 19th June 1919 and admitted to Casualty Clearing Station for treament. He returned to duty a month later. In November 1916 he was admitted to hospital with Myalgia and was then sent to convalencence depot to recover. Then he was transferred to Weymouth remaining at the No 2 Command Depot until he was repatriated back to Australia
Mr Adamson returned to Australia on 22 July 1917 due to Rheumatism. He was discharged 21st March 1918.
After the war Mr Adamson went on to marry his wife Emily Cecelia Howard on 14 December 1918. Mr Adamson’s first child Helena Peggy Adamson was born in 1920 and his second child Inez Mary Adamsonwas born in 1923. Mr Adamson passed away on the 15 November 1953 and was buried at West Terrace Cemetery in Adelaide South Australia.
