Pat Dooley qualified for a Master of Laws (Hons 1) Trinity College Melbourne University after which he trained for Holy Orders in the Church of England
Following enlistment he undertook a brief trainig at Melbourne Hospital as an orderly and then left for overseas service - Egypt and then France.
Pat Dooley married Olive Haynes on 11 December 1917 at St Peter le Bailey, Oxford, England
