Maude was the daughter of John William Stafford and Mary Stafford nee Prender.
She had trained at the Austin Hospital for 3 years, had been a staff nurse at the Women's Hospital for 10 months, Matron at the Public Hospital Creswick for 3 months, at Omeo Hospital for 13 months and had done Private Nursing.
Embarked 17 June 1915 from Melbouren per 'Wandilla'
Serving with the AANS in Southall England, Egypt and France, she was promoted to Sister on 10 December 1918 in France.
Her appointment was terminated 19 October 1919
Maude did not married and died 26 November 1945 at 'The Lavenders' Olive Grove, Boronia, vic.
