Biography contributed by Stephen Brooks

George Frederick Weedon was the son of Samuel and Emily Weedon of Claremont, Western Australia and was one of their three sons who died on active service. The Weedon brothers had lost their father during 1911.

George was married to Alice Annie and was the father of two infant children when he enlisted in April 1917. He served in the Middle East with the Light Horse and Camel Corps. He fell sick with malaria late in October 1918. His condition deteriorated in hospital and he died of pneumonia in military hospital in Beirut, Lebanon.

His younger brother 4914 Pte. Walter Weedon of the 51st Battalion was killed in action at Mouquet Farm during 1916. His older brother, 3253 Pte. Harry Weedon 51st Battalion was killed in action in Belgium during 1917, aged 32.
