12 Feb 1919: Honoured Military Medal, 'On night 23rd/24th June, 1918 South West of METEREN when his platoon Commander became a casualty and the platoon had come under enemy shell fire he took charge, and reorganised, and moved to the final objective. Sgt Edwin Lillee 2nd Bn Killed in action 19th September 1918 was killed by a shell in a dugout.  Also killed in the same dugout was LCpl Patrick O’Neil 2nd Bn Killed in Action 19th September 1918. They now have known  graves in Roisel Communal Cemetery Extension.
