Charles Timothy Herbert BINFIELD was born in Dover, Kent, England in 1890

His parents were Timothy Harrington BINFIELD & Kate HILLS

He enlisted in Brisbane on 13th July, 1915 and embarked with the 31st Infantry Battalion, B Company on 9th November, 1915 from Melbourne on the ship HMAT Wandilla

Charles was wounded on 31st October, 1916 and died the following day at the 1 Anzac Dressing Station of a compound fracture & lacerations to his brain - he is buried in the Dartmoor Cemetery and his name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial
