Meritorious Service Medal

'For meritorious service and devotion to duty. Sergeant KELLY displayed great gallantry at POLYGON WOOD, East of YPRES on 26th September 1917, and during the heavy bombardment on the day following the engagement. His high courage, devotion to duty and splendid example helped in a great measure to carry his comrades through the strain of that day. His devotion to duty is worthy of recognition.'
