Charles Edward Plummer

Charles Edward Plummer, alias Albert Anderson, was born at Woodside on the
16th June 1887, and was the 5th of 10 children of Charles Plummer and Elizabeth Thomson. He enlisted in Cunnamulla, Queensland on the 12th December 1914, giving his age as being 24 years and 6 months. He was a kangaroo shooter. Plummer left Brisbane on board the Itria on the 9th February 1915.
While in Egypt Plummer wrote to his mother informing her that he had enlisted in the 3rd Reinforcements 2nd Light Horse as Albert Anderson.
Private Plummer was killed in action at Gallipoli on the 7th August 1915 and was buried at Quinn’s Post Cemetery, Gallipoli. His estate was handled by J. Ramsay Thomson, Land, Estate and Commission Agent of Woodside and his belongings were sent to his father Charles Plummer.

Enlisted and served as Albert Anderson

Charles Edward Plummer stole his father's horse and traveled up to Cunnamulka, Queensland to enlist under the alias "Albert Anderson". He enlisted in the 2nd light horse, 3rd reinforcement. 

From Cunnamulk he traveled to Engora camp in Brisbane. From there he embarked on the "Itria" on the 9/2/1915.

Several letters were recieved by his mother from Heliopolis, Cairo and a camp in Egypt. 

He arrived at Anzac cove on the 6/7/1915, he died the next day.
