George was born as Edward George MILLER on 27th August, 1885 in Young NSW
He was the 5th of 11 children born to Matthew MILLER and Anna Mary SPLIET
He was Killed in Action by a shell between the 22nd & 25th July, 1916 & buried where he fell - the men of his Battalion erected a cross over his grave with an inscription - He is memorialized in Villers Bretonneux, the Australian War Memorial (Panel 30) and also has his name & details engraved on his fathers headstone in Young Cemetery in country NSW
George was awarded the British War Medal & the Victory Medal
