Add my storyBiography contributed by Chris Buckley
Thomas William Toogood was the second of 10 children of Henry Toogood (born in Stratford, Victoria) and Jemima Craker (born in Omeo in Gippsland, Victoria). The family had lost contact with each other during the early 1900's, and Thomas remained the central contact for members.
Thomas was a Labourer in Bunnan, via Scone NSW in 1914 when he enlisted in the AIF 7th Light Horse Regiment, where he was a Trooper/Driver (Service No: 450), and was at the Gallipoli Penisular. He was Medically Discharged in 1916.
Thomas re-enlisted in 1916 and served with 56th Battalion 8th Reinforcements as a Private (Service No: 3112) and was WIA (Gassed) in France. He was Discharged in April 1919.
Thomas married Sarah Ann (Cissie) Hayward (Nee Palmer) in 1918 in Scone, NSW and they lived in Cargelligo in the Riverina in NSW where Thomas worked as a Labourer.
In 1941 he enlisted and served as a Lance Corporal with 22 Garrison Battalion (Service No: N104476) until 1944. He died in Griffiths, NSW in 1946
