Son of Moses Strain and Cecil HENDERSON of Arcadia East, Vic.
The Rev. Geo. Paul on Friday communicated (on notification from the Defence authorities) to Mr. and Mrs. Moses Henderson, of Arcadia East, the news of the death of their son, Pte. Gilbert H. Henderson, from wounds at No. 3 Clearing Station, France. The sad event occured on June 6th. The deceased soldier, who was 24 years of age, was farming at the time of his enlistment. His brother Charles, after serving at the front, was invalided home; he was subsequently discharged from the army, and has since rented a farm at Pine Lodge. Another brother also offered his services for the war, but was rejected.
