Son of Mr Thomas Stanton and Mrs Bertha Louisa Parry of Railway Station, Deloraine, Tas.

The funeral of Lieut.-Col. Cyril Strahan Parry, who died at the Repatriation Hospital Hobart on Friday at the age of 55, took place at Cornelian Bay on Saturday. Services were conducted by Rev. T. E. Doyle. St. George's Parish Church, Battery Point. The chief mourners were Messrs. P. E. Parry (brother), G. A. Green and F. Willis-., Launceston (sons in-law), R. J. Pullen (Launceston), G. H. Scott (Hobart), C. Stephens (Launceston) and C. Cunningham (brothers-in.law).
The secretary of the Hobart R.S.L. sub-branch (Mr. E. W. Lacey) conducted the returned sol diers' service at the crematorium, where the Last Post was sounded.
Lieut.-Col. Parry joined the defence Department in 1910 and left Australia with the first contingent in 1914, serving overseas as a pay master. He rejoined the Defence Department on return from active service, He became District Finance Officer in 1939 and at the out break of the last war was promoted to litutenant-colonel and was appointed to command the Australian Pay-Corps in Tasmania.
He retired in 1945 because of ill health.
He leaves a widow and four daughters--Mesdames F. H. Williams (Launceston) G. A. Green (Hobart), Misses Joan and Helen Parry, The funeral arrangements were by Clark Bros. Hobart.
