Sydney Horace HUMPHREY was born on 22nd June, 1895 in Bromley, Kent, England
His parents were John & Mary HUMPHREY
He enlisted in Melbourne as a Private on 24th June, 1915 and was promoted to Lance Corporal on 19th April, 1916, promoted to Corporal on 19th July, 1916 & finally promoted to Sergeant on 1st August, 1916
He was wounded on 14th December, 1916 with gun shot wounds to his back and fracture of his spine
