Son of Henry William Vinicombe and Nellie Vinicomber nee Gwynne of Bridge Street, Port Melbourne, Victoria formerly of Yarra Street, South Melbourne.

Brother of William James Vinicombe who returned to Australia on 6 September 1919 having served with the 22nd Battalion and Field Ambulance

Commenced return to Australia 22 January 1920 aboard HT Friedrichsruh disembarking on 9 March 1920
