Barton Edward Maram Woodfield CAMPBELL was born on 7th May, 1885 in Brighton, Tasmania.

His parents were William Andrew CAMPBELL and Caroline Madeline WOODFIELD.

He enlisted on 9th October, 1916 with the Australian Army - he was with the 4th Pioneer Battalion, 7th Reinforcements - Unit embarked from Brisbane on HMAT Kyarra on 17th November, 1916

He was Killed in Action on 8th October, 1917 in Belgium and buried in the field - later re-interred  at Perth (China Wall) Cemetery in Belgium - he is also honoured on the Australian War Memorial

Barton was awarded the British War Medal and the Victory Medal
