Son of Emily Urch of Harrow Road, Rockdale, NSW. 

17 December 1916 - enlisted at Sydney, NSW with the 38th Battalion and with the rank of Private.

22 December 1916 - transferred to the Camel Corps with the rank of Trooper

6 April 1917 - transferred to the 12th Light Horse Regiment

6 June 1917 - transferred to the Cookery School

3 August 1917 - transferred to the 12th Light Horse Regiment

4 March 1919 - commenced return to Australia aboarc HT Port Sydney disembarking on 24 April 1919

Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal

21 May 1919 - discharged at the 2nd Military District
