Albert Hellmuth DEBERG was born in Ipswich, Queensland on 24th November, 1897

His parents were Albert Hellmuth DEBERG & Johanna KENEALLY who married in Queensland on 20th January, 1889

He married Helen WADDELL in Queensland on 14th October, 1915

He had previously served for 3 years in the Senior Cadets & 6 months in the Citizens Forces (Light Horse) before he enlisted in Brisbane on 11th October, 1915 and embarked with the 2nd Light Horse Regiment, 22nd reinforcements on the HMAT Barunga on 20th October, 1916

Albert was Killed in Action in Palestine on 14th July, 1918 and is buried in the Jerusalem War Cemetery

His brother George Henry DEBERG also served during WW1 in the 7th Field Ambulance and returned to Ausrtalia in 1918
