Biography

"...2285 Private (Pte) John Edward Joseph Daly, 15th Battalion, of Newtown, Tas. A painter prior to enlistment, Pte Daly embarked with the 6th Reinforcements from Melbourne on HMAT Ajana on 4th June 1915. On 30th August 1915 he died on H S Maheno of wounds received in action and was buried at Gallipoli. He is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
